Olive I. Whitten, 99, formerly of Dale

Olive I. Whitten, 99, formerly of Dale, passed away at 6:17 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Hamilton Pointe Health and Rehab in Newburgh.

She was born November 17, 1917, in Huntingburg to William Hamilton and Merona Ellen (Songer) Cato and was united in marriage on March 12, 1937, to Ronald Whitten.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; and siblings, Clara Christopher, Roy Cato, Laura Rohleder, Mildred Emmons and Pearl Singer.

Olive is survived by five children, Barbara Whitten of Haysville, Rita Bell of Evansville, Karen (Don) Curtis of LaVaca, Ark., Terry (Carolyn) Whitten of Huntingburg and Tonda (Kevin) Fehribach of Holland; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

There will be no public visitation. Nass & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
