Oakland City University hosting TEDx Talk
Oakland City University will feature a TEDx Talk, the more intimate version of the TED Talks that invigorate discussions on many subjects and bring new ideas to light for a global audience.
This discussion on Technology, Entertainment, and Design (TED) will be held at Oakland City University on Friday, April 21, 2023, at TEDxOCU.
A skilled and knowledgeable line-up of speakers will be featured in OCU’s TEDx talk. As defined by the TED organization, each speaker is limited to 18 minutes.
The public is invited to experience TEDx talk. Seating is limited to 100 per session, and there are ten sessions. The cost is $1 per session, and attendees can pick and choose the sessions they want to attend.

9:30 AM CT: Dr. Ruben West — What’s your contribution
9:55 AM CT: Meagan E. Hill — Women in STEM
10:20 AM CT: Laney Alsman — Diversity
10:45 AM CT: Annabelle Lansdale — Equestrian for low-income families
11:10 AM CT: Dr. Hector E. Will — Artificial Intelligence – Are you ready for it
11:35 AM CT: Kingston Chambers — Minorities in coding
12:00 Noon CT: Shad Sutton — Case Study and Report of a recovering addict
12:25 PM CT: Lonny Chapman — Grief – A father’s journey after losing his son
12:50 PM CT: Jen Teachenor — The importance of trauma-informed practices in education
1:15 PM CT: Jamie Teachenor — Identity
TEDxOCU will take place in the Cornwell-Reed Recital Hall on the campus of Oakland City University.
The doors will open at 8:30 a.m. CT, with seats available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Audience members will be moved in or out between speakers.
Tickets must be ordered in advance and are available per speaker at http://www.shopmyocustore.com or by visiting the Oakland City University Campus Book Store. Tickets can only be picked up on the day of the event at the Cornewell-Reed entrance.
