Northside Jasper water customers advised of chlorine levels
Jasper — The Jasper Municipal Water Department is advising customers on the north side of town that the chlorine level of the water may be more than they are used to but it is safe.
Customers that notice the chlorine are advised to place a pitcher of water in the refrigerator overnight before consuming if they find the chlorine levels unacceptable.
The residual chlorine should normalize in one to two days but the Jasper Water Utility states the water is safe to drink at this time.
The increased chlorine is residual as the North Water Tower was brought back online today at about 8 a.m. The tower has been down for renovations.
