Norman L. Libbert, 83, Huntingburg

Norman L. Libbert, 83, of Huntingburg, passed away at 7:30 a.m., on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born December 11, 1933, in Warrick County, Indiana to Elmer J. and Lorene (Wilsbacher) Libbert.
Norman graduated from Boonville High School in 1952 and served in the United States Air Force from 1952-56. He was united in marriage to Carol Dupps on February 13, 1960, at Saint Joseph’s Church in Jasper. Norman worked as a cost accountant and retired from Saint Meinrad Archabbey. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and the Y.M.I. Club. He was an avid reader and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, Harold Libbert and Judy Sherman.
Norman is survived by his wife, Carol Libbert of Huntingburg; six children, Doug (Mary) Libbert of Jasper, Tammy (Steve) Altstadt of Boonville, Kerry (Krista) Libbert of Jasper, Kim (Chuck) Johnson of Jasper, Jeff (Janel) Libbert of Jasper, and Tess (George) Fleming of Evansville; three brothers, Lloyd (Judy) Libbert of Dale, Bob (Jackie) Libbert of Boonville and Jerry (Nancy) Libbert of Santa Claus; sister-in-law, Kathleen Libbert of Evansville; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m. EDT Tuesday. A parish rosary and Y.M.I. service will be held at 3:00 p.m.EDT Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Huntingburg Public Library or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
