Norma L. Bockelman, 83

Norma L. Bockelman, 83, of Ferdinand passed away Tuesday, December 30, at 4:30 a.m. in Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

She was born March 17, 1931 in Ferdinand to William & Henrietta (Schaefer) Rickelman. She married Harold L. Bockelman June 25, 1955 in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2007.

Norma was a former employee at General Electric in Tell City, and Aristocraft Cabinets in Ferdinand. She was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish and it’s St. Ann’s Sodality, Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 Auxillary, and Ferdinand Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and cooking.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Bender & Marcella “Sally” Mehling, and a brother, Ralph J. Rickelman.

Surviving are one son, Mark Bockelman and his wife Jean of Indianapolis; three grandchildren and  one great-grandchild.

Funeral services 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and 7 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
