Norma “Jean” (Ranger) Huddleston, 79, Columbus
Norma “Jean” (Ranger) Huddleston, 79, of Columbus, Ind., passed away at 11:56 p.m. on November 11, 2024, at Belmont Health and Rehabilitation in Columbus.

Born September 23, 1945, in Huntingburg, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Alleen (Kemp) Ranger.
She married Stanley Eugene “Gene” Huddleston; he survives.
Jean was a 1963 graduate of Holland High School.
She worked in the meat department for the Madison Walmart, retiring in 2010. She was a member of Nebraska Church of God, where she had once served as trustee, secretary of committees, and secretary of organization for the Church of God.
Jean enjoyed flower gardening, coin collecting, quilting, cooking, scrapbooking, singing, writing songs, bird watching, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Gene; her sons, Joshua (Kim) Huddleston of Chattanooga, Tenn., Scott (Cristina) Jenkins of Seymour, Brett (Pratiksha) Jenkins of Hendersonville, Tenn., Chad (Carrie) Jenkins of Freetown, and Kevin (Tara) Huddleston of Indianapolis; brother, Garland Ranger of Ferdinand; grandchildren, Ryan Jenkins, Andrew (Kayla) Jenkins, Kyle Jenkins, Tyler James, Rachel (Argenis) Disla, Nicholas (Kalynda Hoevener) James, Cameron (Addyson Napier) James, Kristen (Cullen) Webster, Derek Jenkins, Olivia Jenkins, Greyson (Mallory) Jenkins, Nathaniel Jenkins, Braeden Karnes, Kas Huddleston, Savannah (Anthony) Fassoth, Madison Huddleston, Jade Huddleston, Seth Huddleston, Ciarra Reed, Samantha (Matt) King, Tamara (Ryan) Lanham; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael Eugene Huddleston; sister, Rose Marie Ranger Wolfe; and grandchild, James Curry Jr.
A funeral service for Jean will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Pastor Bobby Leahigh officiating.
The visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024, and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorial donations may be made in honor of Jean through the funeral home to theĀ American Cancer Society.
