Norma Jane (Olinger) Steinhart, 84, Jasper

Norma Jane (Olinger) Steinhart, 84, of Jasper, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Deaconess Memorial Hospital, Jasper.

Norma was born on September 10, 1941, in Ferdinand to the late Anthony and Freida (Boeglin) Olinger.

She married Del Steinhart on September 8, 1962.

Norma was deeply devoted to her family and found her greatest joy in the lives of her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved each of them unconditionally and always offered her support, encouragement and love.

She was a tremendous cook, and she kept an immaculate home. Her home was always welcoming, orderly, and beautifully maintained.

She loved playing cards and treasured the many friendships she formed around the card table. The games brought her great joy, but it was the companionship, laughter and fellowship of her dear friends that meant the most to her.

She had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin, to Saint Francis of Assisi and to Saint Padre Pio.

Surviving Norma is her husband of 63 years, Del Steinhart: sons, John Steinhart and Michael (Kristi) Steinhart: grandchildren, Xavier (Ashlee), Trystan (Kayla), Kirk, and Kaden (Bree) Steinhart, Nathan Leistner and Autumn Terry; great grandchildren, Taylor (Ben) Holcombe, Cohen, Jaxon, Easton and Sawyer Steinhart, River Leistner, Braelynn Melvin and Annsley Gibson. She is also survived by her brothers, Andy and Jerry Olinger.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her brother James Olinger and his wife, Shirley; her sisters, Barbara Herbig and her husband, Jerry and Mary Lee Meyer and her husband, Earl (Joe). Also preceding her in death were her sisters-in-law, Nancy (Andy) Olinger and Julie (Jerry) Olinger.
