Norfolk Southern to close Huntingburg railroad crossings for work

Several railroad crossings in the area will be impacted by maintenance and repair work being conducted by Norfolk Southern.

Railroad crossings in and near Huntingburg that will be impacted include the following:

  • County Road 800 West
  • South 720 West
  • County Road 650 West
  • County Road 600 West
  • County Road 400 West (in the city limits)
  • Styline Drive (in the city limits)

The company did not give a timeline when those crossings would be impacted but work is occurring on crossings beginning in Illinois tomorrow. The company will be moving east and has 14 crossings to work on before reaching Huntingburg’s crossings. Work on the crossings is expected to take two to three days but is dependent on track time, weather, and other factors.

The company also stated multiple crossings may be closed at once depending on their proximity to each other.

RoadSafe Traffic, Inc. will provide traffic control and detour signage (when applicable) for Norfolk Southern during this job.
