Nora Mae Stieneker, 77

Nora Mae Stieneker, age 77, of Pikeville, Indiana, passed away at 10:19 p.m., C.D.T., Friday, April 27, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
She was born March 7, 1935 in Pikeville, Indiana to Alton and Ellen (Eads) Riesenbeck. She was united in marriage to Ralph H. Stieneker on April 2, 1965 at the Cup Creek General Baptist Church. She graduated from Oakland City College and received her Master’s Degree from Indiana State University.
Mrs. Stieneker was a retired school teacher and taught for 40 years with the Pike County School Corporation; was a lifetime member of the Cup Creek General Baptist Church; and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending church, and raising chickens on the farm.
Nora was preceded in death by: her husband, Ralph H. Stieneker who died May 16, 2008; and three brothers – William, Steven and Moritz Riesenbeck.
She is survived by:
Two sons and two daughter-in-laws,
- Greg (Melissa) Stieneker – Pikeville, IN
- Brian (Vanessa) Stieneker – Seoul, South Korea
Three brothers,
- Larry Riesenbeck – Pikeville, IN
- Robert Riesenbeck – Pikeville, IN
- Stanley Riesenbeck – Pikeville, IN
One sister,
- Dorothy Baker – Carmel, IN
and (5) grandchildren.
Funeral services for Nora Mae Stieneker will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Cup Creek General Baptist Church near Pikeville with burial to follow at Stilwell Cemetery in Pikeville, Indiana. Pastor Jeff Crowe will officiate the services.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Monday; and also at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday morning, prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to: Cup Creek General Baptist Church.
