Huntingburg — Dubois County Community Foundation hosted Nonprofit Appreciation Night with the Dubois County Bombers at last night’s game.

Over 600 tickets were requested through local organizations with nearly 30 different nonprofits in attendance for the event. They were part of nearly 1,700 fans attending last night’s win over the Fulton Railroaders.

“We are extremely pleased with the event and what the Foundation did to showcase the nonprofits,” said Joe Mundy, Bombers General Manager.  “It was a good event from start to finish.”

Between innings, the groups were recognized and received a round of applause from the fans. Some of the groups represented dressed in matching attire to display their organization, including the St. Patrick’s Celebration group from Ireland, dressed in green with shamrock shirts.

“Partnering with the Bombers was a perfect opportunity to bring together our nonprofit community,” said Nicole Hurrle, Communications & Engagement Manager for the Community Foundation.  “This was a great way to have fun and celebrate what they do for our community.”

“Our motive was to take time out of the day and recognize all the impressive work accomplished by the dedicated staff and volunteers of nonprofits,” said Brad Ward, Community Foundation CEO.
