NOAA confirms tornado hit Huntingburg last night
According to Joe Sullivan with the National Weather Service the destruction in Huntingburg was caused by a tornado.
Preliminary reports classify the tornado as an EF-2 with winds between 110 and 120 mph. The tornado’s path is at least a mile long and cut a swath approximately 1o0 yards wide through the south side of Huntingburg.
Sullivan stated this tornado may have lifted and touched down again in Orleans and possibly French Lick.
Sullivan also confirmed that another tornado went through Haysville. It was an EF-1 with winds up to 105 mph and traveled approximately two miles; its path was 60 yards wide.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
