Nancy J. Underwood-Phillips, 60, Dale

Nancy J. Underwood-Phillips, 60, of Dale, passed away at 11:57 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

Nancy was born in Augsburg, Germany on October 19, 1957, to Wayne and Yvonne (Leruth) Underwood. She married Mickey Phillips on February 15, 2015.

Nancy was a dog breeder for over 30 years who specialized in breeding Great Danes. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs, gardening, canning, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Mickey Phillips of Dale; four daughters, Yvonne Garrett (Kevin) of Evansville, Ginger Riegel (fiancé John) of Chandler, Samantha Phillips (Fiancé Kyle) of Huntingburg and Shana Phillips of Jasper; one son, Donnie Phillips of St. Henry; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Georgette Bueltel (David) of Huntingburg, Shirley Neukam (Lloyd) of Jasper, Peggy Eckert (Lenny) of Jasper and Frances Fletcher (Wayne) of Dale.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother Carl Underwood, and one granddaughter, Tonya Riegel.

A Celebration of Life event will be announced at a later date.  Becher-Kluesner Funeral Homes in Jasper are in charge of the arrangements.
