Museum continues Let’s Talk series with local historian

The Dubois County Museum welcomes historian and local Facebook groups coordinator to the museum on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. as part of their Summertime Lecture Series called, “Let’s Talk”.

Dubois County History online; Join Dot Lewis, Jasper native, who created and operates several popular local Jasper and Dubois County Facebook Social Groups for a Meet and Greet about her Facebook Groups. The Groups focus on local entertainment, enjoyment and education. The three different Facebook Groups explore history, introduce happenings, promote events, share dining and shopping venues, menus, memories, news, obituaries and photos.

The interactive discussion will involve the topic of connecting with history and the community online, nostalgia, creating family trees, local genealogy and museum resources and a question and answer panel discussion with local history or genealogy experts.

Participants are encouraged to bring local family or vintage pictures, family trees, newspaper clippings and heirlooms to share, be photographed and posted to the local Group pages for the Seminar participants and online Community to enjoy. (Materials brought to show and share will remain participant property unless owner chooses to donate).

The Museum and Genealogy Center will be available to tour. Saturday 06/11/2022 @ 1:30 pm. Museum closes @ 4 pm.
