Mrs. Alta Marie Lockhart (Wininger), Homosassa

Mrs. Alta Marie Lockhart (Wininger), of Homosassa, Fla., passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the age of 69 due to complications from COPD.

Alta was born to Hollis and Grace Wininger on February 12, 1950, in Wickliffe. Alta married Elmo “Moe” Lockhart on November 18, 1988.

Alta is survived by her husband, Moe Lockhart; two sons, Timothy Phillips of Paoli and Walter “Dipper” (Krishna) Nelson of Hardinsburg, Ind.; two daughters: Tammie Tedrow of Loogootee and Julia (Jim) Jones of Jasper; one stepson, Terry (Christine) Lockhart of Floyd Knobs; one stepdaughter, Amy Morris of Paoli; 10 grandchildren, Justin, Jason, Scotty, Tasha, Journey, Haylee, Ryan, Allyson, Taylor and Destany; two great-grandchildren, Lyra and Wrynley; two brothers, Bennie (Linda) Wininger and Jerry Lee Wininger; several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Grace, her brothers: Preston and Lavern Wininger, and her sisters: Viola Grooms, Patsy Bryant, Beulah ‘Boodie” May Jones, Lillian Wininger, and Helen Davis.

Alta chose to be cremated and have a celebration of life in lieu of a funeral service. The celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Donnie and Connie Brewer’s home located at 8858 State Road 145 South, French Lick.

Food will be provided but we ask that you please RSVP by April 6, 2019, via Facebook event or 812-639-6947 so the correct amount of food can be provided.
