More pet food recalls

A large list of pet food recalls was posted on Wednesday due to possibly being tainted with salmonella.

Dogs and cats with salmonella may have the following symptoms;

  • Fever
  • Shock
  • Lethargy
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Anorexia
  • Weight loss
  • Dehydration
  • Skin disease
  • Mucus in stool
  • Abnormally fast heart rate
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Abnormal vaginal discharge
  • Miscarriage or spontaneous abortion

The new brands added include; Boots & Barkley, American Variety, Dogsbutter, Nature’s Deli and Nature’s Recipe.

This link opens a listing from the American Veterinary Medical Association with a complete list of varieties of each brand that are recalled. This list includes all animal foods currently under recall and can be filtered by date of recall or type of animal.
