Miss Shamrock Pageant now taking applications; Informational meeting planned for Jan. 31

As the town of Ireland prepares to hold its St. Patrick’s Day Celebration on March 15 through 17, organizers are now accepting applications for the Miss, Teen, Little Miss and Mister Shamrock.

The Miss Shamrock Pageant will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 1:00 pm Little Miss/Mister and 4:00 pm Miss/Teen at Jasper Middle School Theatre. 

There is an Important Informational Meeting that will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Ireland Elementary School Cafeteria  • 6 pm for Little Miss/Mister & 7 pm Teen/Miss.

Miss – who are eligible are: students at Jasper High School, live in Madison/Boone Township and ages 16-20. Contestants must be 16 or older by March 17, 2024 and 20 or younger on March 17, 2024. Contestants will be judged and be required to wear 3 different outfits, Professional Business Attire, “Wearing of the Green” and Evening Gown. Scholarship will be awarded and Miss Shamrock will have the opportunity to represent the St. Patrick’s Celebration in the Indiana State Festival Association competition, where she can earn more scholarships. 

Teen – ages 12-15 and who is a student at Jasper Middle School, Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School or live in Madison/Boone Township. Contestants must be ages 12-15 as of March 17, 2024. Contestants will be judged and be required to wear 3 different outfits, Professional Business Attire, “Wearing of the Green” and Evening Gown. Scholarship will be awarded.

Little Miss and Mister – is open to ALL boys and girls grades 2nd-4th at Ireland Elementary School or live in Madison/Boone Township. Contestants will be judged and be required to wear 2 different outfits, “Wearing of the Green” and party dress. Scholarship will be awarded.

Attendance is mandatory at dress rehearsal, pageant, “Light Up Ireland” on Friday, March 1, at 6:30 pm and the weekend of the St. Patrick’s Celebration March 15-17.  All contestants are highly encouraged to attend all practices, but are not a requirement. Participants will be notified of when these events will be held.
