Miller chosen to take Ferdinand Clerk-Treasurer position

Monday evening, Democratic committee members in Ferdinand Districts 1 and 2 unanimously selected Tammy Miller to fill the Ferdinand Clerk-Treasurer position being vacated by Beverly Schulthise.

The caucus was held due to Schulthise announcing she would be resigning from the position she has held since 1988. She had previously served as an employee of the Town of Ferdinand since 1977.

Miller and Michael Cummings shared their resumes and answered questions from the audience of 16 people for approximately 30 minutes Monday evening before committee-persons of Ferdinand 1 and 2, Rich Helming and Rita Oser respectively, voted.

Miller, a certified public accountant, is a 1984 graduate of Forest Park High School and a 1988 graduate of Indiana University.

She held positions as an auditor at Ernst and Young in Indianapolis for two years and spent 10 years as treasurer and secretary and Project Accountant for REI Investments, REI Real Estate Services and Browning Management in Carmel.

Miller will take office January 1, 2018.
