Mildred L. “Millie” Goeppner, age 80, of Ireland, Indiana passed away at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Saturday (August 17, 2013) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

Mildred was born on March 24, 1933 to Leo and Irma (Mendel) Scherle in Jasper, IN. She married John Goeppner on July 5, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.

She was a homemaker, farmer, and she also worked at the Haysville Mill and at the Chicken Place part time.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, the Ireland St. Ann’s Society, and a past member of the Jasper D of I.

She enjoyed playing cards, word searches, and cooking and canning.

Nine Grandchildren; Jackie Goeppner, Andy Goeppner, Andrea Brown, Adam Goeppner, Brooke Greenwell, Keisha Oser, Cody Goeppner, Emerich and Landen Leinenbach.

Four great-grandchildren; Ava Louise Greenwell, Liam Goeppner, Naomi and Kyndal Brown

Several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are one sister, Lucille Fleck, and two brothers, Richard Scherle, and Thomas Scherle Sr.

Funeral services for Mildred L. “Millie” Goeppner will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday (August 21, 2013) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday (August 20, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The St. Ann’s Society will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m.
