Mildred E. Baer, 96, Jasper

Mildred E. Baer, 96, Jasper, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2016, in the Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.
She was born at Haysville on November 11, 1920 to Robert and Lorena (Krodel) Buchta. She was married to and preceded in death by two husbands; Henry Freyberger who died in April 11, 1962 and Linus Baer who died on May 4, 2008.
Mildred was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and (WELCA ) Women’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Association.
She was a quilter, baker, homemaker and gardener who enjoyed her grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Larry Freyberger and wife Judy of Jasper; stepdaughter, Nancy Baer of Jasper; stepson, Tim Baer and his wife Judy of Ireland; daughter-in-law, Marie Freyberger of Ireland; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death are one son, Richard Freyberger and stepson David Baer. And two great grandchildren. Also three brothers, Robert Buchta, Cletus Buchta and another brother Ralph who died in infancy. One step-brother, Vic Cochran and two step sisters, Alice Frye and Maxine Weisman.
Funeral services for Mildred Baer will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2016, in St. John’s Lutheran Church with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Boone Township. The Rev. Catherine Burnette will officiate.
Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church.
