Mildred A. Harris, 96, Ferdinand
Mildred A. Harris, 96, of Ferdinand, entered eternal rest on September 13, 2026, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand.

She was born on January 25, 1930, to Fred and Lula (Smith) Abell.
While living in St. Louis with her Aunt Nellie, Mildred held her first job at Crunden-Martin Manufacturing Company making kites.
She married Ronald Ray Harris at Calvary Baptist Church on December 27, 1958.
Mildred worked for 20 years at G.E. in several locations, Tell City, Huntingburg and Owensboro, Kentucky, then retired from Styline after 20 years of service.
Mildred lived for the Lord and was a member of Shady Grove Assembly of Believers. Around her home, she loved vegetable and flower gardening. She was the last living member of her family.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald; seven brothers, Carl, Clarence, Clyde, Claude, Harold, Howard, and James Abell; a sister, Pauline Harris; one niece; and a great-niece and nephew.
Sincere gratitude goes out to the wonderful staff at Scenic Hills at the Monastery for the love and care they showed Mildred during her time there.
Mildred is survived by her long-time friends, Ron and Vicki Fischer, Kathy Seifrig, niece and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. EDT. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow in Mentor Cemetery near Birdseye.
