Michael W. Robinson, 79, Santa Claus

Michael W. Robinson, 79, of Santa Claus, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, at his home in Christmas Lake Village.

Michael was born on September 14, 1944, in Terre Haute to Lester and Eva (Biddle) Robinson.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Rippetoe on December 25, 1965 in St. Joseph Church in Terre Haute.

Michael retired from Public Service Indiana (Duke Energy) as a computer technician and salesperson. He also worked for Johnson Controls and George Booth Company.

He was a member of the Santa Claus Optimist Club, Santa Claus K of C, past president and Christmas Lake Village H.O.A member.

Michael was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a Corpsman Second Class and received two purple hearts and a bronze star.

He also volunteered at the St. Nicholas Church Picnic. Michael was a member of Santa Claus Legion.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Joyce Robinson; one daughter, Lee Anne (Larry) Meadows of Fort Branch; one son, Michael Ray (Britney) Robinson of Louisville; three granddaughters; one brother, Larry (Nancy) Robinson of Plano, Texas.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and Uncles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. CDT on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in St. Boniface Church in Fulda. Burial with military graveside rites in the church cemetery to follow.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. CDT at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand, and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. CDT at the church.
