Michael “Soupie” Fischer, 56, Jasper

Michael “Soupie” Fischer, 56, Jasper, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2016, in the University of Louisville Medical Center in Louisville, Ky.
He was born in Jasper on February 14, 1960 to Edwin and Evelyn (Vonderheide) Fischer.
He enjoyed his children, grandchildren, gardening and fishing and was a handyman and fixer-upper. He especially enjoyed grilling out. Michael formerly was a truck driver and a caretaker at his home. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Jasper Outdoor Recreation.
He is survived by one daughter, Sandy Fischer-Schoenbachler of Huntingburg; two sons, Eddie Fischer and wife Maridel of Jasper and Dustin Fischer and his wife Jennifer of Jasper; parents, Edwin and Evelyn Fischer of Jasper; four grandchildren, Cameron, Nolan and Heather Schoenbachler and Alejandro Fischer; sister, Brenda Wirthwein and husband Bernie of Huntingburg; brother, Steve Fischer and wife Sally of Jasper.
Funeral services for Michael “Soupie” Fischer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Enlow Jasper City Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
