Michael L. Birk, 61

Michael L. Birk, 61, of Jasper, passed away at 8:58 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2014, in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born in Jasper, Indiana on December 21, 1952 to Raymond and Betty (Seng) Birk. He married Martha Berg on October 7, 1972 in St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony, Indiana.

Mike graduated from Jasper High School Class of 1970 he also attended Vincennes University. He retired from Messmer Mechanical in Jasper. Mike was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, New York Yankees, Cleveland Browns and IU Basketball.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; daughter, Mindy Albright and husband Brady, of West Chester, Ohio; son, Mark Birk and wife Jill (Underhill) Birk, of Houston, Texas; one grandson Jackson Raymond Albright; sister, Mary (Lisa) Wagner and her husband Tom, of Jasper; brother, Jeff Birk and his wife Carol, of Indianapolis.

Funeral services for Michael Birk will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.

Rosary by St. Joseph Parish will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
