Michael A. Salb, 26, of Martinsville, formerly of Jasper, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018, as the result of an ATV accident.

Michael was born in Huntingburg on February 22, 1992, to Gary and Nancy (Haas) Salb.

He was a 2010 graduate of Jasper High School. He then graduated from the North American Lineman Training Center in McEwen, Tennessee in December of 2014. He worked as a lineman for Indianapolis Power and Light. He was a member of the (IBEW) International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Michael enjoyed hunting, reading, and was an avid outdoorsman.

He is survived by his father and mother, Gary and Nancy Salb of Jasper; one sister, Jena Salb of Nashville, Tenn.; his girlfriend, Morgan Whitaker of French Lick; maternal grandmother, Audrey Hass of Huntingburg.

Preceding him in death are his maternal grandfather, Howard Haas, and his paternal grandparents, Earl “Bud” and Betty Jo Salb.

Funeral services for Michael A. Salb will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Salem United Church of Christ, with burial to follow at a later date. Pastor Mark West will officiate.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and two hours before services from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael A. Salb Lineman Scholarship Fund at the Dubois County Community Foundation.
