Michael A. Bockelman, 58

Michael A. Bockelman, 58, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Core Nursing and Rehabilitation in Dale, Indiana.

Michael was born on September 5, 1956, in Jasper, Indiana to Anton J. and Mary Jean (Armes) Bockelman. He married Jackie Heichelbech on March 25, 1984 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand, Indiana.

Michael retired from Verizon Telephone Company in Jasper, Indiana after 32 years of service in the telephone industry. He enjoyed traveling, collecting comic books, reading, working in the yard, and watching the New York Yankees and IU basketball.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Bockelman of Jasper; mother, Mary Jean Bockelman of Jasper; one sister, Sandy Russell of Augusta, Ind.; two brothers, Richard Bockelman, and his wife Sharon of Huntingburg and A.J. Bockelman, and his husband Jeromie Jarreau of St. Louis, Mo.; nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his father, Anton J. Bockelman, and brother-in-law’s, William Heichelbech and Dennis Russell.

Funeral services for Michael Bockelman will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow at a later date.

Friends may call from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
