Meta Katter, 96
Meta Katter, age 96, of Holland, Indiana, passed away at 10:05 p.m., Sunday, December 25, 2011 at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg.
She was born March 1, 1915 in Holland, Indiana to Edward J. and Mary (Harmeyer) Niehaus. Meta was married to Raymond E. Katter on August 29, 1936 at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland. She was a homemaker, a lifetime member of St. James Lutheran Church in Holland where she was active in the St. James Women of the Church, and was a former member of the Holland Home Extension Club. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Raymond E. Katter, who died on August 1, 1998; and two brothers, Raymond Niehaus and Eldo Niehaus.
She is survived by:

- Mitchell McDevitt – Crawfordsville, IN
- Michelle Fischer – Australia
by (9) great grandchildren and (2) step great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Meta Katter will be held at 11:00 a.m., Eastern Standard Time, on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland with burial to follow at St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Holland. The Rev. David Darling will officiate the services.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday; and also from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday, prior to the funeral at St. James Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. James Lutheran Church or to a favorite charity.
