Merilee D. Bishop, 85

Merilee D. Bishop, 85, of Santa Claus, passed away, February 17th at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.

Merilee was born February 26, 1929 in Dallas County, Missouri to Abner and Dorothy (Austin) Dill.

Merilee was owner and operator of The Frame Up in Mt. Vernon, Texas. She was a former teacher in a one room schoolhouse in Dallas County, Missouri. Merilee enjoyed cross stitching, caring for her plants and was an avid reader.

Merilee is survived by one son, Darren Laughlin of Santa Claus; one daughter, Gayle Ann Laughlin of Aloha, Ore.; two brothers, Jim Dill of Peculiar, Mos.; Gayle Dill of Springfield, Mos.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Merilee was preceded in death by a son, George Laughlin.

Memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 24th at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date in Missouri.
