Mentors for Youth announces new president, board members

Mentors for Youth has elected Kristin Braun as its board president to serve for a period of two years. Her term began on January 1, 2020. 

Of her new role, Braun says, “I’m honored to take on this role as board president. We have a great team of staff and board members along with strong community support. Mentoring has the ability to enhance the lives of children and adults, and I look forward to working together to create opportunities that will allow us to carry out our mission.”

Braun has previously sat on the board as both a member and vice president. Braun is to replace outgoing board president, Ryan Craig.

“Ryan has grown our organization in tremendous ways,” said Ellen Corn, executive director of Mentors for Youth. “We are grateful for his hard work and dedication to our organization, and we’re happy to have him continue on as a board member.”

Serving as vice president will be Kelsey Menke, who has previously sat on the board as a member. Brent Pfister will serve as treasurer and Sarah Blackgrave will serve as secretary. 

Effective January 1, 2020, the Mentors for Youth Board consisted of the following members:

Mentors for Youth is dedicated to facilitating mutually beneficial relationships between youth and volunteers for the purpose of enhancing individual lives and the community. The organization has been serving Dubois County for over 30 years, matching children with responsible adults for one on one mentoring.
