Memorial opens alternative screening site
Memorial Hospital will open an alternative screening site in continued efforts to prepare for coronavirus (COVID-19) Monday morning.
According to hospital officials, as they continue to closely monitor and proactively plan for COVID-19, Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center the site located at 695 West Second Street across from IGA (entrance on the west side of the building- follow the yellow signs) will open at 9 a.m. for those patients who do not require emergency department services, but who have symptoms of fever, cough, and respiratory congestion or shortness of breath.
Memorial Hospital will provide testing for influenza A & B, strep throat, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and chest x-rays at the site. At this time, the hospital is unable to provide COVID-19 testing at this site or at the Memorial Hospital Emergency Department unless the patient meets the criteria defined and authorized by the Indiana State Department of Health.
This site will open today, Monday, March 16th at 9am and will remain open Monday- Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Patients may call 812-996-6330.
Memorial Health Employer Services and Memorial Hospital Outpatient Rehab Services will remain open at the Memorial Health Center Second Street location. These locations have separate entrances. Patients visiting the Alternative Screening Site are asked to follow the yellow signs for the appropriate entrance.
