Issue #8
From Dubois County
Happy Wednesday, Reader
While this won’t make it in the newsletter today, we received a message from Dan Schroeder. He’s a beekeeper mentored by Jerry Apple. Mr. Apple died last year, but Dan is carrying on his love for beekeeping. Dan and his wife, Melissa, have greatly expanded their beekeeping business, Growing Success Bee Company, in Warrick County. He credits Mr. Apple’s mentorship for his success.
We did a story about Mr. Apple a couple of years ago. You can read it here https://duboiscountyfreepress.com/a-sweet-life/?
In other news, local veterans are pushing the county to expand the veterans service office, and the council discussed issues with the 911 paging system.
Also, several local businesses and organizations have stepped up to help a family impacted by a fire that ravaged their Ireland home Sunday evening.
Don’t forget, Jasper Mayor Dean Vonderheide will give the State of the City at the Council meeting at 5:30 p.m. You can attend in person or watch it online at this link.?
From Dubois County with love.
Matt Crane
