Maurice E. Rickelman, 81, St. Henry

Maurice E. Rickelman, 81, of St. Henry, formerly of Ferdinand, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.

He was born June 3, 1936, in Spencer County to Edmund & Catherine “Katie” (Denning) Rickelman.

Maurice was a member of Christ the King-St. Ferdinand Parish. He was a Korean war veteran and a member of Ferdinand American Legion Post 124, Ferdinand V.F.W., St. Henry Catholic Knights of America, Huntingburg Eagles, and St. Meinrad K of C # 5599.

He was retired from the Laborers Union. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Surviving are five sons, Kenny (Sue) Rickelman of Buffaloville, Denny (Sherri) Rickelman of Fulda, Renny (Louise) Rickelman on St. Henry, Lenny (Diane) and Benny (Beth) Rickelman, both of Ferdinand; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Hilda Waninger of Ferdinand; and two brothers, Joe and David (Mary) Rickelman both of Ferdinand.

A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, in Christ the King Parish-St. Ferdinand Church, with burial to follow in St. Meinrad Parish Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church after 8 a.m. Wednesday.
