MasterBrand Ferdinand operations awarded Governor’s Workplace Safety Award — Rising Star
MasterBrand Cabinets’ Ferdinand Operations received the 2022 Governor’s Workplace Safety Award-Rising Star.
The annual Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards (GWSA) recognizes companies based on best practices for eliminating workplace injuries and illnesses and salutes those who have made safety and health a top priority.
“Masterbrand Cabinets, Inc. is a cabinet manufacturing company producing cabinetry and other wood products primarily used for residential storage and organization,” stated Scott Denhart, Vice President of AOK Builder Ferdinand Operations. “With approximately 26 manufacturing facilities in North America, Ferdinand Operations, the largest kitchen and bath manufacturer in North America, and we use a systematic approach using eight elements to improve the safety and health of our employees. Those elements are unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, leadership engagement, employee involvement, benchmarking, regulatory compliance, education, and training and planning for the future. We accomplish this through regulatory compliance, reduction in injures, and overall hazard communication programs. Most importantly, we continue to empower our workforce to make decisions regarding the safety of their facility.”
The Central Indiana Chapter of ASSP and the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Indiana Department of Labor, recognize the most innovative safety and health initiatives among Indiana’s workplaces. To qualify, applicants or nominees must be deemed free of compliance disputes concerning all applicable local, state, and federal statutes and regulations. The Award ceremony took place in Indianapolis, and the award was presented to the team by the Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Labor, Joseph B. Hoage.
Ferdinand Operations earned this prestigious recognition through ongoing employee participation and engagement in safety programs, leadership support, system implementation, and reduction in recordable incidents. It takes everyone to be Always Aware to achieve this award and keep the Ferdinand location a clean and safe workplace.
