Marylin Joan Ambrose, 87, Selvin

Marylin Joan Ambrose, 87, Selvin, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016, at her home.

She was born September 1, 1929, in Folsomville to Parley Jennings and Girthie Jeanette (Evans) Bruce.

Marylin worked at the Stork Hospital and later, was a homemaker. She was very active in her community, serving on many committees. She was instrumental in fundraising for the revitalization project for Selvin Community Center.  She was a member of the Selvin Methodist Church and the 4-H Homemakers Club and enjoyed playing bingo, quilting, camping and cooking.

She was preceded in death by, her husband, Leo W. Ambrose, who passed away January 28, 2009; two sons, Greg Ambrose in 1970 and Michael Bruce in 1999;  a brother, Roger Bruce.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce (Carolyn) Ambrose of Selvin and Scott (Jane) Ambrose of Selvin; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Jane Wyatt of Boonville, Susie (Royal) Hadley of Lynnville and Dana Farley of Newburgh; six grandchildren (and spouses), Jeremy Ambrose of Selvin, Jennifer (Damian) Vonderheide of Selvin, Stephanie (Chad) Wagner of Chandler, Craig Scales of Holland, Beth Ambrose of Evansville, Kristy (Adam) Krohn of Evansville and Tim (Stephanie) Winters of Evansville; six great-grandchildren, Isaac, Kiley, Isaiah, Autumn, Whyatt and Hadley.

Funeral services for Marylin Ambrose will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Pastor Karen Sureck will officiate the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00 to 8:00p.m. EST Tuesday, September 6th, 2016. Memorial contributions can be made to the Selvin Cemetery.
