Mary M. Johnson, 83

Mary M. Johnson, 83, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015, at The Waters of Huntingburg.

She was born October 23, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas to Ellis and Edna (Barthel) Green.

Mary was a graduate of Lincoln High, Vincennes. She married Charles “Sonny” Johnson on May 1, 1954 at the Methodist Church in Bruceville, Ind.

Mary was the personnel manager at Kmart in Jasper for 18 years. She was a member of the Eagles in Huntingburg and the VFW Auxiliary where she held many offices.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Cheryl Lynn McCoy; a grandson, Nathan Johnson; and a sister, Marjorie Ackerman.

She is survived by three children, Michael (Jan) Johnson of Columbus, Ind., Carol Johnson of Huntingburg andChuck (Carol) Johnson of Huntingburg; two half-sisters, Linda Goble of Lancaster, Texas and Mozelle Burns of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Mary Johnson will be held at 11:00 a.m. July 30th, 2015, at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Friends may call for visitation at Nass & Son Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

A VFW Auxiliary memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
