Mary Louise Heidorn, 95, Huntingburg

Mary Louise Heidorn, 95, Huntingburg, passed away at 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg.

She was born June 26, 1921, in Huntingburg, Indiana to John and Catherine (Hoffman) Schaefer. She married Emory H. Heidorn on August 17, 1940, at St. Mary’s Rectory in Huntingburg.

Mary worked at the Huntingburg V.F.W. Post #2366 as a cook and retired from the dietary department of St. Joseph’s Hospital where she worked for 20 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, a member of St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality and the V.F.W. Post #2366 Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory H. Heidorn, who passed away on May 24, 1960; two sons, Roger Heidorn and Gary Heidorn; four sisters, Pearl Lindauer, Florence Lueken, Ethel Pfaff and Leona Pfaff; and one brother, Walter Schaefer.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jim (Marilyn) Heidorn of Huntingburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna (Lee) Schneider of St. Anthony; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mary Louise Heidorn will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday. A parish rosary prayer service will be led by Deacon Tom Holsworth at 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon and the V.F.W. Post #2366 Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
