Mary Lou Potts, 85, Cannelburg

Mary Lou Potts, 85, of Cannelburg, Ind., passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2026, at her home.

She was born in Haysville on September 29, 1940, to Harry H. and Clara M. (Sendelweck) Fuhrman.

She married Richard R. Potts on May 31, 1958, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 10, 2021.

Mary was a Dubois High School graduate

While working alongside her family on the farm, she also worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Home for 33 years.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and WELCA.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Susan Potts, Haysville; sons: James Potts, Cannelburg; David Potts, Glendale; and John (Melissa) Potts of Washington; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Wilkins; grandson, AJ Wilkins; and three sisters: Barbara Miller, Rita Kirby, and Janet Roach.

A funeral service for Mary Lou Potts will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville. A burial will follow at Oak Grove Reeve Township Cemetery in Daviess County.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Tuesday.
