Mary Jo Fisher, 83
Mary Jo Fisher, 83, of Dubois, Indiana, passed away at 4:47 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand, Indiana.
Mary Jo was born in Jasper, Indiana on September 4, 1931 to Bernard and Mary (Johnson) Seifert. She married William G. Fisher on April 22nd 1950 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2010.
Mary Jo retired from Southeast Purdue Farms, where she worked as a lab technician for over 20 years. She also worked as a waitress at Mathias Cafe in Dubois and Heichelbech’s Restaurant in Jasper. She was a member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, Indiana, where she volunteered much of her time. She also was a volunteer for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and was a caregiver for the homebound.
She enjoyed flower gardening and traveling,
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Terwiske and her husband Dave, of Haysville, and Paula Wood and her husband Phil, O’Fallon, Ill.; two sons, Rick Fisher of Phoenix, Ariz. and Gary Fisher and his wife Missy, of Dawson Springs, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ida Mae Welp and her husband Herb, of Jasper, Betty Judy and her husband John, Jasper, Barbara Seifert of Florida, and Jeanette Carter of Florida; two brothers, John Seifert of Terre Haute and Jim Seifert and his wife Margaret, of Jasper.
Preceding her in death besides her husband were three sisters; Margaret Kieffner, Helen Rose Herr, Geri Pieper, and one brother; Charles Seifert.
Funeral services for Mary Jo Fisher will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, Indiana with burial to follow at a later date in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Monday, September 8, 2014, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, IN.
