Mary Jean Bockelman, 87

Mary Jean Bockelman, 87, of Jasper, Indiana passed away at 12:22 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

Mary was born on November 19, 1927 in Washington, Indiana to Harold and Lena (McCray) Armes. She married Anton J. Bockelman on April 14, 1953 in Jasper, Indiana. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2014.

She was a homemaker and a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and their Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, traveling, and flowers.

Mary Jean is survived by one daughter, Sandy Russell of Augusta; one daughter-in-law, Jackie Bockelman of Jasper; two sons, Richard Bockelman, and his wife Sharon of Huntingburg and A.J. Bockelman, and his husband Jeromie Jarreau of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandchildren, Amy and Philip Bockelman; two step-grandchildren, Dennis Heath Russell and Keith Russell; three step-great-grandchildren, Jadea Russell, Jake Russell, and Harvick Russell.

Preceding her in death besides her husband was one son, Michael Bockelman, and one son-in-law Dennis Russell.

Funeral services for Mary Jean Bockelman will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, IN.

Friends may call from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
