Mary Frances Voelkel, 79

Mary Frances Voelkel, age 79, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Saturday (September 15, 2012) at Northwood Good Samaritan Retirement Center in Jasper.
She was born at Harrisonville, Missouri March 15, 1933 to Lonnie L. and Faye (Moore) Moore. She married Stanley Voelkel May 17, 1951; he preceded her in death May 25, 1980.
Mary was a waitress for many years at the Jasper Country Club and retired from the Jasper Corporation, a Division of Kimball International also worked for Renee’s Country Restaurant and Bar in Dubois.
She was a member of the First Baptist church in Jasper – the Eastern Star Chapter #590 of Birdseye, Indiana and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars to Post # 673 in Jasper.
She loved dancing and very active in the Eastern Star.

- Ferrell Voelkel and spouse Bobbi, Dubois, IN
15 Grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren 3 step- great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Two brothers,
- Charles Moore, Harrisonville, MO
- Lloyd Moore, Durango, CO
Preceding her in death besides her husband is one grandson, one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services for Mary Voelkel will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (September 19, 2012) at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois with burial to follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Dubois. The Rev. Mary Poston will officiate.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday (September 18, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church.
Eastern Star memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association or to a favorite charity.
