Mary E. Leisman, 77

Mary E. Leisman, 77, of St. Anthony, Indiana, passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, May 25, 2015, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.

Mary was born in Celestine, Indiana on October 18, 1937 to Alois and Bernice (Nordhoff) Schepers. She married Albert Leisman on May 26, 1959 in St. Celestine Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1985.

Mary was a homemaker and member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the St. Anthony Christian Mothers. She enjoyed reading, embroidering, gardening, flowers, plants, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Angela Russell and her husband Jonathan of Shoals and Theresa Lehmkuhler and her husband Greg of Huntingburg; six sons, Darwin Leisman of St. Anthony, Thomas Leisman and his wife Kristin of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Mark Leisman of St. Anthony, David Leisman and his wife Janet of St. Anthony, Randall Leisman and his wife Sheila of St. Henry and Albert Leisman of St. Anthony; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Pat Recker  and her husband Leon of Celestine, Sr. Eileen Schepers, O.S.B. of Martin, Ky., and Rita Schepers of Celestine.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are one great granddaughter, Kristin White and two brothers, Richard and Gerald Schepers.

Funeral services for Mary E. Leisman will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana and one hour before services at the church. St Anthony Parish will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
