Mary Ann Vaughn, 82

Mary Ann Vaughn, age 82, of Velpen, Indiana, passed away at 7:00 a.m., Sunday, June 8, 2014 in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born January 29, 1932 in Velpen, Indiana, to Ralph and Ruth (King) Henning. She married Chester H. Vaughn on December 6, 1950 in Otwell.

Mary was a retired Otwell Elementary School teacher. She was a member of the Winslow Order of the Eastern Star; and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and scrapbooking.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Chester H. Vaughn, who died March 19, 2014.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mike (Janet) Vaughn of Velpen; two daughters, Kathy Vaughn of Marietta, Ga., and Linda Vaughn of Velpen; one stepdaughter, Carol Cherry of Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Imogene Russell of Winslow; four grandchildren, Darla Sullivan of Lynnville, Kurt Vaughn of Petersburg, Melissa Vaughn of Evansville, Katie Vaughn of Velpen; two step grandchildren, Delorah Eileen Miller and Harold Frederick “Rick” Miller both of Florida; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mary Ann Vaughn will be held at 2:00 p.m., EST, on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Velpen.
