Martina Rasche, 48

Martina Rasche, 48, of St. Anthony, Ind. passed away at 6:40 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Ind.

Martina was born on October 15, 1965 in Drummullan, Northern Ireland to Arthur and Gertrude (Hampsey) Conway. She married Martin “Bud” Rasche on July 14, 1999 in St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois, Ind.

She was an English teacher who taught private school in Kuwait City, Kuwait from 1996 until 2003, and more recently was a teacher aid for Patoka School in the Crawford County School Corporation.

She was a member of St. Celestine Catholic Church. She was a Daisy Girl Scout Leader.

She enjoyed reading, music, nature, and spending time with people.

She is survived by her husband, Martin “Bud” Rasche of St. Anthony; one daughter, Aoibhinn “Eveing” Rasche of St. Anthony; her mother, Gertrude Conway of northern Ireland; one sister, Bernette Conlon and her husband Anthony, of northern Ireland; four brothers, Sean Conway and his wife Sinead, of northern Ireland, Brian Conway and his wife Pat, of London, England, Kieran Conway and his wife Una, of northern Ireland, and Noel Conway and his wife Gwen, northern Ireland.

Preceding her in death is her father, Arthur Conway, one sister Colette Conway, one brother Paul Conway, and one brother who died in infancy, Blaze Conway.

Funeral services for Martina Rasche will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
