Martina C. Gaesser, 89

Martina C. Gaesser, 89, of Ferdinand passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

She was born June 11, 1925 in Ferdinand to Edward & Caroline (Hoppenjans) Schipp. She married Gervase A. Gaesser on September 10, 1946 in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2003.

Martina was a member of Saint Ferdinand Parish and its St. Ann’s Sodality; Ferdinand Daughters of Isabella. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, baking, crocheting, and playing cards.

She is survived by two sons, David Gaesser and wife Carol, and Larry Gaesser and wife Denise, both of Ferdinand; three daughters, Martha Gagne and husband Deacon, Jerry, and Kathy Dorsam and husband Randy, all of Jasper; Mary Wehr and husband Greg of Bretzville; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bernida Bredhold and husband Ferrel of Ferdinand.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Norbert, & Othmar Schipp; and one sister, Edwina Gogel.

Funeral services 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014, in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church, burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and 7 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
