Martin County prosecutor postpones decision on Drew prosecution

Shoals – The Martin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office did not issue a statement on whether or not to file criminal charges against former Jasper Police patrolman Dave Drew last week.

Attorney Mike Steiner stated if a decision was not made last week, he would not do so until after completing a trial for a separate case scheduled this week.

Today the prosecutor’s office stated Steiner won’t make a decision on the Drew case until after an April 5 meeting with the Indiana State Police about the investigation.

The Martin County Prosecutor’s Office has been reviewing the case since receiving it the week of March 4. Steiner stated the investigation includes lengthy audio interviews he and deputy prosecutor Joe Howell have reviewed.

Drew has not commented on the case or his resignation.
