Martha Kuntz, 99

Martha Kuntz, age 99, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 7:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2013, in St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

She was born in Boone Township, Indiana on December, 27, 1914, to Otto W. Braun and Caroline Schnarr Braun. She married Walter J. (Red) Kuntz September 21, 1939, He preceded her in death on July 11, 1969.

Martha worked for Greater Jasper School System for 25 years in the cafeteria department. She also worked for the former Wheel Stop Restaurant and the American Legion and the Calumet Lake.

She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, ST. Ann’s Society, Daughters of Isabella and the Grand Mothers Club.

Her hobbies included playing cards, watching the Indiana Pacers and the Jasper Wildcats basketball.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Kidwell and husband Bob, of Jasper; son, Larry Kuntz and wife Carolyn, of Jasper; grandchildren, Greg Kuntz, Scott Kuntz, Rene Kreilein, Tina Schmidt, Lynn Bauer and Phil Kidwell; also eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Preceding her in death besides her husband is one great great grandson and one brother Paul Braun.

Funeral services for Martha Kuntz will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2013, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call 3-7 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.

Rosary will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday by the St. Ann’s Society and the Daughter of Isabella.

Memorials contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Precious Blood Catholic Church or to St. Charles Health Campus.
