Martha A. Hochgesang, 67, of Jasper

Martha A. Hochgesang, 67, of Jasper, passed away at 11:32 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper.

Martha was born in Washington, Indiana, on August 6, 1948 to Martin J. and Louise (Bachman) Hochgesang.

She was a waitress in Los Angeles, California for 30 years and then after moving to Jasper, she worked at Denny’s Restaurant until retirement.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

She enjoyed writing poetry.

She is survived by two sisters, Emma Noffsinger and her husband Tom of Cornelia, Ga. and Monica Hochgesang-Roi of Chandler; three brothers, Larry Hochgesang of Jasper, Mike Hochgesang and his wife Pat of Jasper and Kenny Hochgesang of Jasper; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are one sister, Mary Rodriguez; and one brother, Charles Hochgesang.

Funeral services for Martha A. Hochgesang will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
