Martha “Helen” Wimsatt Sharer, 100, Manassas, Va.

Martha “Helen” Wimsatt Sharer, 100, passed peacefully in her sleep on January 27, 2024, in Manassas, Va.

Helen was born in Stanley, Kentucky, to Sylvester M. Wimsatt and Eileen (Thomas) Wimsatt on
October 1, 1923, and they moved to Evansville in 1926.

Helen survived three brothers and three sisters.

She was married for 54 years to Carl Edward Sharer, Jr., who preceded her in death, and they lived in
Jasper.

They had four children: John, Donald, Janet, and James, 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Helen was a true inspiration, a loving person, a devout Catholic, a dear friend, and a pillar of the family.

She was loved by many and is dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
