Marshall Anthony “Tony” Woods, 63, Mentone, Ind.

Marshall Anthony “Tony” Woods, 63, of Mentone, Ind., passed at 11:57 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19. 2024 at Lutheran Hospital of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. 

Tony was born on Jan. 22, 1961, in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Carmalou Woods.

He was a 1979 graduate of Southridge High School in Huntingburg, where he played the tuba in the band. He marched at Walt Disney World and Cotton Bowl Parade. His band won the state contest when he was a sophomore. He furthered his education with IU South Bend.

Over the years, he worked for a furniture factory, Dish Network, and as a chemical assistant in Goshen.

Tony enjoyed reading, doing photography, using the computer, and watching all kinds of racing. He loved to go to the Indianapolis 500, the Brickyard, and Formula1 in Indianapolis. 

He is survived by his mother, Carmalou Henderson of Mentone; aunt Linda Woods of Huntingburg; cousin Lance and his wife, Lena Woods of Evansville; and several second cousins in Indiana and Virginia. 

Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, William H. and Carmen L. (Skelton) Woods Sr.; and Uncle William H. Woods Jr.

No services will be held at this time. 

The arrangements are entrusted to King Memorial Home, 101 North Tucker Street, Mentone, Indiana.
