Mark Alan Schwinghamer, 63

Mark Alan Schwinghamer, 63, of Holland, passed away at 7:25 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the home of his sister, Brenda Dietrich, in Jasper.
He was born in Huntingburg on November 24, 1951 to Wilfred “Butch” and Elizabeth “Betty” (Mehringer) Schwinghamer.
He married Kay Meyer on November 25, 1977 at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland.
Mr. Schwinghamer graduated from Ferdinand High School and spent two years in the United States Army. He was employed at Best Chairs in Ferdinand for 23 years before resigning for health reasons. He was a member of the Holland American Legion Post #343 and the NRA. He enjoyed shooting and collecting guns.
He was preceded in death by one brother who died in infancy, Brian Schwinghamer; and one nephew and godchild, Jake Schwinghamer.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Schwinghamer of Holland; three daughters and one son-in-law, Melissa Schwinghamer of Holland, Lauren Schwinghamer of Holland, and Amanda (Adam) Johnson of Carmel, Ind.; his parents, Butch and Betty Schwinghamer of St. Henry; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Brenda Dietrich of Jasper, Nancy Beier of Jasper, and Janet English (Brent) of Franklin; one brother and sister-in-law, David (Sue) Schwinghamer of St. Henry; one granddaughter, Callie Johnson of Carmel, Ind.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015, at the C.K. of A. Hall in St. Henry, Indiana.
Cremation has taken place and private disposition will occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a covered dish in the form of an appetizer or dessert may be brought along.
