Mark A. Oeding, age 70, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, May 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on December 16, 1955, in Jasper, Indiana, to James and Rita Mae (Rasche) Oeding.
Mark graduated from Jasper High School in 1974.
On November 17, 1979, he married the love of his life, Leta (Hudson) Oeding, with whom he shared many cherished years.
He retired from Frito-Lay in 2014 after a dedicated career.
A man who valued community and fellowship, Mark was a 48-year member of the Linton Elks Lodge, a 25-year member of the Sons of the American Legion, and also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. He found joy in riding his Harley, fishing, bird watching, and traveling. Mark was an enthusiastic supporter of IU sports, NASCAR, and the Indy 500. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and friends. Mark was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Leta; his children, Mark (Alice) Oeding, Leslie (Rob) McBride, and Jennifer (Chuck) Yttrie; his grandchildren, Dalton (Kelli) Ewers and Kaylin (Niko) Ewers; and his great-grandchildren, Karter Ewers and Quinn Ewers. He is also survived by his siblings, Mike (Mel) Oeding, Mary (Danny) Hill, and Marsha (Steve) Stallings.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service to celebrate Mark’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, 140 E. Vincennes Street, Linton, Indiana. Visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
